J Motseo Inc (“we”, “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it, and the rights you have under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (“POPIA”). We are the “responsible party” for the information described here.
1. Who we are
J Motseo Inc, 38 Melle Street, Unit 0711, Management House, Braamfontein, Johannesburg, Gauteng, 2001, South Africa. Email: info@jmotseoinc.com.
2. What information we collect
- Information you give us. If you use the contact form we collect your name, email address, your phone number (optional), the practice area you select (optional), and the content of your message.
- Technical information. Like most websites, our hosting infrastructure records standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, pages requested and timestamps. We use your IP address briefly to limit repeated form submissions and to protect the site from abuse.
- Cookies. This website does not use advertising or analytics cookies. If that changes we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent first.
3. Why we use it
- To read and respond to your enquiry and to assess whether we can assist you.
- To carry out conflict checks and meet our professional and legal obligations, if you become a client.
- To keep this website secure and working properly.
We process your information because you have consented by submitting the form, because it is needed to respond to a request you made, because the law requires it, or because it is necessary for our legitimate interests (such as website security). We do not use your information for marketing unless you separately agree to it, and we do not sell it.
4. Who we share it with
We share information only with service providers that help us run the website and receive your enquiry (for example our hosting and email providers), who may only use it on our instructions and must keep it secure. We may also disclose information where the law requires it. Some providers may process information outside South Africa; where they do, we take reasonable steps to make sure your information stays protected to a standard comparable to POPIA.
5. How long we keep it
We keep enquiries only for as long as needed to deal with them and to meet legal, regulatory and record-keeping requirements. If we do not act for you, we delete or de-identify your enquiry once it is no longer needed.
6. How we protect it
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), restricted access to enquiries, and automated protections against spam and abuse. No online system is completely secure, so please avoid sending sensitive or confidential details through the contact form.
7. Your rights
You may ask us to:
- confirm whether we hold personal information about you and give you access to it;
- correct or delete information that is inaccurate, out of date or no longer needed;
- stop processing your information, or withdraw consent you previously gave (this does not affect processing already done).
To exercise these rights, contact our Information Officer, Johannes Motseo, at info@jmotseoinc.com. If you are not satisfied with our response you may lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa) at inforegulator.org.za.
8. Children
This website is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 18.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date above shows when it last changed. See also our Terms & Disclaimer.
